what we’ll cover

  • 01 / anatomy

We will cover some fundamental principals of the body in our arm balances and inversions to help you understand and practice them more effectively and efficiently for your body.

  • 02 / fears & obstacles

Addressing the fear of falling and failing, learning how to bail out safely and addressing the psychological blocks that can often show up in the body and mind when we practice.

  • 03 / finding joy & play

Make practising more curious and playful. Use props, hands on support and transitions to meet you at your level and create more room for exploration & experimentation.

Whats it all about?

This 3-hour workshop is designed to give you the most effective and efficient pathways to unlocking and refining your arm balances and inversions within your yoga practice in an empowering and educational way.

We will explore fundamental postures such as crow pose, headstand, forearm balance and handstand, understanding the components required to access these often more challenging and complex shapes and navigate it within our own bodies with compassion and curiosity.

In this 3-hour long workshop, you will learn the most efficient pathway of the body, find a deeper understanding of the psychological blocks that can often hold us back from playing and somatically shift them. We will learn how to fall and bail out so you can feel safe and confident to continue your exploration in your personal practice.

Whether you are just starting in your practice and seeking to understand the basic mechanics, or you traverse the world upside down often and want to become even more efficient in your movement patterns, there will be something for all levels to explore and discover.

Why I created this:

When I first began my practice in 2017 I immediately fell in love with handstands, inversions and arm balances.
It gave me the space to recognise how limitless I was in my being, it taught me how to overcome adversity with grace
and devotion and allowed me to let go of old limiting beliefs all the while finding joy in the process.

I longed so deeply for in-person spaces to practice, learn and challenge myself with these things, but there didn’t seem to be many (if any) spaces available in New Zealand that were sharing and exploring them. And so, I spent the majority of my practice at home on my own, meeting the boundaries of my practice and slowly and surely surpassing them.

Once completing my first Yoga teacher training in February 2021 I knew down to my bones that my path would at some point bring me to hosting my own trainings, workshops and portals for deep and curious exploration of the limitless nature of our beings. I knew I not just wanted, but needed to create the spaces that I so desperately craved when I first started practising and that at some point I would be called into offering the container for people to rise, expand, transform and grow in ways they never thought possible.

It took a few years to answer the call, but there is something potent in 2025 that I sensed was the perfect timing for this offering to come into creation. It feels like a piece of my heart and I cannot wait to be in the reality of it with you.

And so here we are…

Schedule for the Day

12 pm - opening practice
12:30 pm - hands-on workshopping
2:45 pm - open floor Q&A

Who is this workshop for?

Just starting out

If you are just starting on your arm balance, inversion and handstand journey one of the most beneficial things you can learn is the fundamental component parts that are involved, this will help give you an understanding of what is happening in your body so you can practice safely with confidence and efficiency.

Advanced Practitioners

Understanding how to continue expanding a posture to meet your level is one of the best ways you can continue to find challenge and greater control within your practice. There is always another layer, another challenge, a new pattern and perspective that will help you continue to refine your balance and challenge yourself as you progress.

Yoga Teachers

You don’t need to be able to do a posture in order to teach it, but you do need an understanding of what is happening in order to guide your students with confidence. We will discuss anatomy and cues as well as ways we can assist using props and hands-on support to empower ourselves and our students to explore these shapes safely and playfully.
